Congratulations to all the presenters and organizers who welcomed the public to explore science at UW-Madison through online or outdoor events as part of the 19th Annual UW-Madison Science Expeditions campus open house.
You helped connect learners of all ages from all around Wisconsin to the people, places & programs in science from all across Wisconsin’s public land-grant university.
In the world of public virtual events, it’s difficult to track attendance – but we do have a few pieces of data from April 9-11, 2021:
- The Science Expeditions event website had 909 users (798 were new)
Science Expeditions event website users were from WI, IL, CA, IA, MN, VA, NY, CO, and GA - The Science Expeditions ThingLink map had 385 unique views
- The UW-Madison Science Expeditions YouTube page had 580 unique viewers
The time and talents you invested in your online events will continue to touch and inspire learners for years to come at the UW Science Expeditions YouTube channel.
We are especially grateful that you helped keep bright the light of hospitality in our time of living covidly. As we move into the middle of May, we’re delighted that the university is gradually re-opening many of our campus venues to the public.
We look forward to working with you again next year for a fully-in-person 20th Annual UW Science Expeditions on April 8-10, 2022.
In appreciation,
The 2021 UW Science Expeditions Committee
