The 11th Annual UW-Madison’s Science Expeditions Campus Open House welcomes you to campus for three days of exploration. See a full list of events here or print off a timetable to plan out your weekend.
On Friday April 5, start your Science Expedition at the Grand Opening of the Wisconsin Energy Institute, then meet up with your friends at the UW Biotechnology Center to hear from UW Sea Grant Researchers as part of Wednesday Nite @ the Lab. To end your first day of Science Expeditions, take the family up to the Washburn Observatory for Stargazing & Skywatching. Then on Saturday April 6, visit some of the Exploration Destinations at 9 am through 5 pm and then make your way to Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery from 10 am -2 pm for Exploration Stations. Sunday April 7, is just as busy and exciting as Friday and Saturday! The Health Sciences Learning Center will be hosting many events including Exploration Stations from 10 am to 2 pm. The School of Veterinary Medicine will be hosting an Open House with Exploration Stations and Presentations from 10 am to 4 pm. Then from 12pm to 5pm head over to the School of Human Ecology Design Gallery for an Exploration in the Design Gallery with presentations and guided tours. Madison Metro paid bus routes 2, 3, 14, 15, 27, 28, 37, 38, and 70 routes are all normally-scheduled bus routes which pass by WID.
Once you’re on campus, the free Science Expeditions Trolley runs every 15 minutes from 10 am to 5 pm to help you get around to all the Science Expeditions venues. In addition, Madison Metro Route 80 provides additional free service.

Free Trolley Stops
Take advantage of the free UW-Madison Science Expeditions Trolley on Saturday, April 6 as you enjoy the entire Campus Open house. Feel free to ride the entire route with the Tour Guides or jump off to enjoy the Exploration Destinations! The trolley will begin its route at 9:30am and run until 4:30pm. The route begins at Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery on Orchard Street and lasts about 35 minutes long.
The Trolley will take you directly to or very near to all of the Exploration Destinations. Guides from the Campus Visitor and Information Program will be on the trolley until 4:00pm to welcome visitors, answer questions, and point out historically signficant and current research sites during the travel between Exploration Destinations.
